Hi, I'm Samir, the founder and owner of SRK Mowing LLC.
My journey into lawn care didn't start with a business plan it started with learning something completely new.
When I moved to the United States from Togo at 15 years old, I couldn't speak any English. Everything about life here was unfamiliar, including lawns. Back home, I had never used or even seen a lawn mower before.
As I adjusted to a new country and learned English, I started helping my dad mow our own yard. At first, I struggled. Learning to operate a mower while adapting to a completely different culture wasn't easy, but I kept practicing until it became second nature.
When I turned 16, my dad gave me the opportunity to mow one of his apartment complexes so I could earn some extra money. That experience taught me responsibility, consistency, and the value of hard work. I looked forward to mowing because I knew every dollar I earned came from my own effort.
Back then, I drove a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and carried a 21-inch Toro push mower, a Craftsman electric trimmer, and a Craftsman electric leaf blower in the trunk of my car. It wasn't the ideal setup, but I made it work.
For years, I wanted to start my own business, but fear kept holding me back. I worried about not having enough money, not having enough customers, and what would happen if I failed.
Then, in 2025, I came across a quote that completely changed my mindset:
"Once it feels scary to jump, that's exactly when you jump. Otherwise, you end up staying in the same place your whole life."
That quote gave me the confidence to stop waiting for the "perfect time."
On February 19, 2026, at 19 years old, I officially founded SRK Mowing LLC.
When my first season began, my grandpa generously gifted me a homemade 4' × 5.5' trailer. I purchased a 30-inch Toro TimeMaster and an Echo commercial-grade trimmer, and together with my original mower, I had everything I needed to start serving customers.
As my business grew, so did my equipment. I invested in a 46-inch Craftsman zero-turn mower to take on larger properties. The only problem was that my trailer was just 48 inches wide, while the mower was 46 inches wide, leaving almost no room for anything else. Many days I found myself driving back home in the middle of my route just to swap equipment, wasting valuable time and fuel.
Instead of accepting that as "good enough," I made another investment in my business by purchasing a 5' × 10' utility trailer. That one decision completely changed the way I worked. I could finally haul all of my equipment at once, spend less time driving back and forth, and focus more on taking care of my customers.
Today, I continue to invest in better equipment, better systems, and better service because I believe every improvement allows me to provide a better experience for my customers.
Although SRK Mowing LLC is a young company, I bring five years of hands-on lawn care experience to every property I service. Whether it's a small residential yard or a large commercial property, I approach every job with the same attention to detail, reliability, and pride in my work.
For me, this business is about more than cutting grass. It's about building something from the ground up, proving that hard work pays off, and earning the trust of every customer I serve.
